Lena Lawalin

Cannelton, Indiana - Lena Mae Lawalin, 100, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at her home. She was born in Hancock County, Kentucky, on August 15, 1913. Her parents were the late Walter and Minnie (Snyder) Shore. Also preceding her in death was her husband, James L. Lawalin in 1965; a son, Walter Keith Lawalin; sister, Maggie Hale and brothers, William, Ted and Roy Shore. A homemaker, she was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church and enjoyed her dogs, cats and gardening. Surviving are her nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial in Lilly Dale Cemetery in Gatchel. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Seventh Street Baptist Church.
