Leighton Hawkinson

Tell City, Indiana Leighton K. Hawkinson, 80, passed away December 31, 2017 t St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born in River Falls, Wisconsin on November 28, 1937 to the late Alvin and Ruby (Brown) Hawkinson. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Clayton, in infancy. Leighton was married on May 23, 2003 to the former Mary Ellen Bostley. He had retired as a psychiatric social worker, dedicating his career in helping others. Leighton will be forever remembered for his legendary sense of humor and love for his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife Mary Ellen Hawkinson, Tell City; children, Karleen Haas (Randal), Santa Claus and Jeffrey Hawkinson (Rachel), Hillsboro, NH; grandchildren, Seth, Maggie, Hannah Grace, Justin and Savannah; a brother, Al Hawkinson, Gallup, NM; sisters, Annelle Nelson, River Falls, WI and Doreen Orr, Red Wing, MN; and his dog, Licky. Per Leighton's request, there will be no services. Huber Funeral Home,Tell City Chapel will be handling arrangements.
