Tell City, Indiana - Laura E. Bolin Burden, 92, passed away May 8, 2017 at Golden Living Center. Laura was born in Evansville, Indiana on March 8, 1925 to the late Thomas and Eva J. (Casey) Russell. Also preceding her in death was her first husband, Norman Bolin in 1970, second husband, George Burden in 2002; children, Russell L. Bolin, Leander Bolin, James Virgil Bolin and Gerald Ray Bolin; sisters, Leona Russell and Edna Ziliak; brothers, Sherman Russell and Alton Russell; granddaughter, Rachel Bolin and step children and step grandchildren. Laura was the oldest living member of Chestnut Grove Church and loved attending and being with her church family. She enjoyed playing the organ, fishing, remodeling houses, visiting with friends, taking drives to Kentucky, watching barges on the river and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Dennis E. Bolin, Sr., Cannelton, Rita Polen, Sylacauga, Alabama; daughter in law, Charlene Bolin, Cannelton; step children, Terry Burden, Sr., Tell City, Ray Burden and Morris Burden, Louisville, KY; a sister, Elsie Shutt, Evansville, IN; eight grandchildren, Cheryl Cravens, Dennis Eugene Bolin, Jr., Denisa Whitworth, Jamie Polen, Roberta Pugh, Steven Polen, Michelle Polen and Brian Bolin; seventeen great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren. She also has several step grandchildren and their families. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 12, 2017 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Bolin Cemetery. Pastors Dennis Eugene Bolin, Jr., Harold Nix and Wayne DeWitt will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 on Thursday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Bolin Cemetery.
