Derby, Indiana Larry Neal "Bub" Cronin, 65, passed on to his next journey October 7, 2014 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born in Gerald, Indiana, December 26, 1948 son of the late Cyril and Norma (King) Cronin. Also preceding him in death was his wife Darlene Cronin and brother Barry Alan Cronin. Bub attended Rome grade school and graduated from Cannelton High School in 1966. He began work at Mulzer Quarry in Derby, and he also worked for Foertsch Construction, Bennett Brothers and Blakenberger Brothers and retiring in May 2008 from Black Beauty as a heavy equipment operator. As one of his co-workers had said "He could pick up a penny with his front end loader." He enjoyed watching NASCAR, his favorite drivers were Dale Earnhart Jr. and Tony Stewart. Larry also was a fan of IU basketball and enjoyed collecting die cast heavy equipment. Bub is survived by his sisters, Marilyn (Donald) Kellems and Gerry Lynn (Ronald) Kellems, both of Tell City, Greta Carroll of Derby and many nieces and nephews, whom he taught the love of four wheeling and getting stuck in the mud. Larry is also survived by his two "best buddies", Randall Carter and Mike Cole. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Bill Taylor will officiate. Visitation is from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Thursday. Donations in his memory may be made to Lilly Dale Cemetery or Perry County Animal Shelter.
