Krissy Hetrick

Kristina Michelle Hetrick, 48, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, with her husband by her side, after a six-month battle with glioblastoma.

She was born in Merrillville, Indiana on July 3, 1976, and was a graduate of Morgan Township High School.

Krissy was united in marriage on July 27, 2013, to Danny Hetrick. She was a self-employed hairdresser and worked at SIRS until her diagnosis. Krissy loved working with her special needs adults.

A devoted mother, wife, daughter and sister, Krissy dedicated herself in caring for her son, Chase. She enjoyed taking motorcycle trips with Danny, pontoon rides on the river and days spent at her swimming pool. She loved to shop and watch Chase play basketball with Special Olympics.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Hetrick; son, Chase Michael Lee Nelson; her parents, Lee and Dottie Nelson; sisters, Faith Jones (Patrick) and Elaina Miller (Mark); brother, Jeff Nelson (Shawnda) and nieces and nephews, Savannah and Drake Jones, Sadie Spratley, Luke and Jake Miller, Cody Nelson and Ethan and Madison Shelby.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their professionalism, kindness and care they provided for Krissy as it will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM CDT on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in Derby Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Special Olympics.
