Tell City, Indiana -
Kimberly A. Gunn, 64, passed away on September 28, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, surrounded by her family.
Kim was born in Evansville on July 31, 1959, the daughter of Paul and Ruby (Seib) Koressel.
Kim was a 1977 graduate of Tell City High School and soon married her high school sweetheart, Bill Gunn, on June 28, 1980, at St. Paul Catholic Church. They shared 43 years of companionship and joy.
She began her career in banking, working for the former Citizens National Bank and Old National Bank. She then joined the staff of Huber Funeral Home where she worked in the office and was a pre-need counselor for 22 years. Her outgoing personality and ease to comfort families made her a perfect fit for the funeral home. Kim retired in January of 2023.
After retiring, Kim was looking forward to more time babysitting her cherished grandchildren. She was the epitome of a loyal and empathetic soul who lived a vibrant life filled with laughter, love, and loyalty to her loved ones.
Kim was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Associate Chapter of Tri-Kappa and Moose Lodge 1424. She enjoyed planting flowers in her yard, watching a good scary movie on Netflix, getting ready for the holidays and the company of her girlfriends. Most of all, she loved being with family. She was her children and grandchildren’s biggest supporter, always attending their sporting events and school activities.
Kim is survived by her husband Bill Gunn, Tell City; her mother, Ruby Koressel, Tell City; her children, Brooke McWhirter (Kasey), Cannelton, Kara Gunn, Tell City and Trent Gunn (Kara), Tell City; a brother, Tim Koressel (Jackie), Corinth, TX; grandchildren, Bailey and Kaitlyn McWhirter, Myla and Layni Gunn and Gatlin Gunn and her mother-in-law, Ruth Gunn, Cannelton and all the Koressel, Seib and Gunn extended families who Kim loved so dearly.
