Kevin Griffin

June 6, 1959 — December 18, 2014

Cannelton, Indiana Kevin E.Griffin, 55, went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2014, from a long battle with diabetes. He was born June 6, 1959 in Elwood Indiana and lived most of his life in Alexandria, Indiana. Kevin graduated from Alexandria Monroe High School in 1977. He moved to Cannelton in 1995, to work as a prison guard in Branchville after working several years at Pendleton Reformatory and CIC. Kevin had also been a Union organizer for the Indiana State reformatory workers UAW. He enjoyed watching the Colts, spending time with his family and friends and raising a garden every year, earning him the nickname "Mater", for the tomatoes he loved to grow and give away. He was a member of Agape' Fellowship Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Tammy (Baugh) Griffin, father Lainey T. Griffin, brother Jim Griffin, stepfather Arthur Tomlinson, and nephew Brad Fouchey. Kevin is survived by his mother Virginia (Kirby/Griffin)Tomlinson, sisters, Nina (Griffin) Mattman and Paula Randy) Watson, brother, Todd (Sandy) Griffin, sister -in-law Vickie Griffin, stepson Matt Baugh, and mother-in-law, Mary Minnear. Kevin had been deeply saddened by the loss of his best friend and faithful companion ""Abby"" his schnauzer. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Bro. Bob Campbell will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time.
