Kenneth Wheatley

Tell City, Indiana Kenneth E. Wheatley, 74, passed away on January 2, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Hawesville Kentucky on July 18, 1946 to Horace "Melba" and Verna Evelyn (Haycraft) Wheatley. Kenneth was a 1964 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and attended ITT Vocational School. He was united in marriage to Janice Coon on May 31, 1964 at Immaculate Conception Church in Hawesville, KY. Due to his health, he retired in 1997 as an electrician from Commonwealth Aluminum after 17 years. Kenneth enjoyed reading, wood working and mechanics. He particularly loved and adored his grandkids who say he told the best stories. He will be deeply missed. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Janice Wheatley, Tell City; children, Marcia Stillwell (Stephen), Grandview, Tracy Wheatley (Ethel), Hawesville, KY, Chad Wheatley (Tammy), Tell City and Nathan Wheatley (Nancy) Smyrna, TN; brothers, Norman Wheatley (Nancy), Hawesville, KY and Steven Wheatley (Tina), Henderson, KY; a sister, Lois Chapman, Ferdinand; grandchildren, Chrystal Aldridge, Danielle Sweeney, Clint, Kenneth, Lucas and Logan Wheatley, Jessie Hall, Steven and Kasey Wheatley, Madeline, Gabriel and Evelyn Wheatley and great grandchildren, Ali, Mikey, Abbygail, Torin, Kyla and Noah. Preceding him in death were his parents, Melba and Verna Wheatley and a sister, Faye England. Per Kenneth's request there will be no services. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Kenneth's favorite charities; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Indiana Right to Life.
