Tell City, Indiana - L. Kenneth Schroeder, 86, passed away on June 14, 2016, at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born in Tell City on February 7, 1930, son of the late Leslie Guy and Myrtle Emily (Dauby) Schroeder. Also preceding him in death was his daughter, Donna Egbert; brother, Alfred Schroeder and a grandson, Scott Egbert. Kenneth was united in marriage May 4, 1952, to Ruth Carter at Lilly Dale Church of Christ. A U.S. Army veteran, Kenneth gave many years of service and dedication to Tell City National Bank where he held many positions, retiring as cashier and secretary of the board of directors. Kenneth was also an active member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. He enjoyed baking, gardening and working in his yard. Kenneth was generous with family and friends, always sharing his cakes and cookies. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth (Carter) Schroeder; daughter, Regina Witte, (Rick), Evansville; son-in-law, John Egbert, Evansville; brothers, Glen Schroeder and Paul Schroeder, both of Tell City; grandchildren, Melanie Quates, Jake Witte and Galina Witte and a great granddaughter, Makayla Welborn. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Rev. JT Hills will officiate. The burial will be in Deer Creek Cemetery, where VFW Post #2939 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00AM until service time on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ.
