Kenneth Poehlein

Tell City, Indiana - Kenneth Poehlein, 76, passed away Wednesday February 13, 2013 at Owensboro Medical Health Systems. He was born in Tell City September 18, 1936 son of the late Monroe and Nellie (Campbell) Poehlein. Also preceding him in death was a sister Naomi Oost and a nephew, Van Poehlein. A 1955 graduate of Tell City High School, he retired from the US Postal Service after 23 years. Kenneth was united in marriage May 19, 1956 at St. Paul Catholic Church to Georgia Biever who survives. A member of the OAKS, he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and fishing. Kenny is survived by his wife of 56 years, Georgia; daughters, Janie Poehlein, Cannelton and Kathy Voiles, Evanston; sons, Ed Poehlein, Joe Poehlein, Fred Poehlein and Ted Poehlein, all of Tell City; sister, Margie House, Tell City; brother, Norman Poehlein, Evanston; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
