Kathy Hess

Tell City, Indiana

Katherine M. Hess, 72, passed away on June 17, 2024, at Brickyard-Lincoln Hills Care Center.

She was born in Evansville on May 24, 1952, to Helen (Freeman) and Pete Hess.

Kathy was a 1970 graduate of Tell City High School. She retired from Best Chair and later worked in the cafeteria for Tell City Schools.

A huge Elvis fan, Kathy enjoyed going to the drive-in and loved spoiling her nieces and nephews that she adored.

Surviving is her son, Mark Hess; sisters, Lora Ann Smith and Lisa Powers; nieces and nephews, Matt Hudson (Jamie), Kelsey Biever (John), Megan West (Derek), Crystal Pruitt (Brad), Zach Powers (Emily Hagedorn) and Kyle Powers and several great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, George Ann Franchville and Mary Helen Hudson; and a brother, Mike Hess; nephew, Donnie Smith and niece, Valerie Franchville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00-7:00 PM and Friday from 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
