Karl Emberton

Cannelton, Indiana Karl Emberton, 70, died Sunday, August 14, 2005 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana. Karl was born September 10, 1934 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, son of the late Hascal Emberton and Ova Ellen (Turner) Emberton. Besides his parents, Karl was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Emberton and a sister, Eva Turner. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the United States Army. Karl was united in marriage to Jane (Chalmers) Anderson on August 1, 1992 in Rockport, Indiana. Karl retired as a Department Manager in 1998 from Stewart-Warner where he had been employed for 38 years. He was a member and past commander of the Harry G. Myers American Legion Post #142 and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Indianapolis. Karl enjoyed woodworking, gardening and attending auctions and flea markets. Karl is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jane (Chalmers), two sons, David Emberton and his wife, Dawn of Atlanta, Georgia, Darin Emberton and his wife, Rhonda of South Lyon, Michigan, one step-son, Charles Anderson, and his wife, Patricia, Greenwood, Indiana, three sisters, Delma Turner, Jean Arterburn and Ruth Ann Perdue all of Indianapolis, two brothers, Ancel Emberton and Wendell Emberton, both of Tompkinsville, Kentucky. He had one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Emberton and was expecting his first grandson in December. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, where the American Legion Post #142 will conduct military rites. Visitation is from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 AM until service time Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, 129 North Sixth Street, Cannelton, Indiana, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Another service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday at Bethlehem Methodist Church in Tompkinsville, Kentucky with visitation at the church from 3:00 until 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Bethlehem Cemetery. Pastor Gary Emberton will officiate.
