Tell City-
Karen K. Wittmer, 81, of Tell City, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024, surrounded in prayer by both of her daughters.
Karen was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 17, 1942, daughter of Philip and Evelyn (Powell) Wittmer.
Karen was a graduate of Tell City High School, class of 1961, and retired from Southern Hills Counseling Center, where she worked in accounting. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Tell City Historical Society. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and taking walks.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Cindy Hildebrandt of Owensboro, KY (Mark), Kelly Bowman of Centerville, OH (Arnie), and her brother, Philip Wittmer of Owensboro, KY. Karen was a cherished grandmother, or Grammy as they called her, to Molly Horner (Jeff), Nicole Smith (Adam), Blake Jarvis (Jared Grubaugh), Philip Pepper (Tia), and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, sister-in-law, Jeanne Wittmer, and her adored granddaughter, Erin Jarvis.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. A graveside service will immediately follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, with Rev. Luke Waugh officiating.
