Leopold, Indiana Julius H. Genet, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health Systems. He was born in Leopold on October 3, 1922 son of the late Henry and Celine (Goffinet) Genet. Also preceding him in death was a daughter Charlene Genet and brothers Earl Genet and Eugene Genet in infancy. A U.S. Army veteran, Julius retired from the Perry County Highway Department. He married Bessie Goffinet November 20, 1947 who survives. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Julius enjoyed yard work, gardening, cross stitching, and making quilts. Julius is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bessie Genet, 2 daughters, Darlene Hagedorn, Tell City and Shellia (Tom) Shearn, Leopold, son, Terry Genet, Leopold, 4 grandchildren, Brett and Chris Hagedorn, Eric and Evan Shearn, 5 great grandchildren, Emily, Kyle and Carli Hagedorn, Taylor Kratzer, and Noah Shearn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, March 11, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Aaron Pfaff and Rev. Barnabas Gillespie O.S.B. will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday and from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM on Friday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church or VNA Hospice.
