Judy Sturgeon

Tell City, Indiana –

Judith A. Sturgeon, 70, passed away on September 28, 2024.

She was born in Tell City, daughter of Donald H. and Naomi F. (Richard) Cassidy. Judy was a 1972 graduate of Tell City High School and retired from Masterbrand Cabinets where she worked for 27 years.

She never turned down a chance to go fishing or watch old Westerns. Judy loved to garden and cook, especially when she could share with her family and friends. When she had time just to herself, she worked crossword puzzles and read most anything, with Louis L’amour books being her favorite. Judy loved being able walk down to Braunie’s to sit and visit with her friends. She thought of her stepsons as if they were her own, whether they were giving her a fit at the time or not.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Bunny Suzanne Cates; grandchildren, Harmony and Brandon; sisters, Mariandrea Duncan (Mike) and Donita Wolf (Donnie); brother, Rick Cassidy and stepsons, Darrel Sturgeon, Brad Sturgeon and Larry Ray Sturgeon.

Her parents, her husband, Lawrence Sturgeon, a brother, Donald H. “Hank” Cassidy, Jr. and a stepson, Brian Keith Sturgeon preceded her in death.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time.
