Tell City, Indiana –
Judy Polk, 78, passed away on July 28, 2024, at Oakwood Health Campus.
She was born in Tell City on April 20, 1946, daughter of Lloyd and Bertha (Bolin) Lawalin. Judy was a 1964 graduate of Tell City High School and was united in marriage on June 5, 1965, to Donald Polk, who precedes her in death.
She loved working at Coca-Cola and later retired from Swiss Plywood where she worked in the office.
Judy enjoyed the simplicity that life had to offer, whether that be bird watching or spending the day outside enjoying fresh air. She loved sitting by the river, hoping to get a glance of a riverboat or barge passing by.
Judy’s always looked forward to visits from her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Spending time with her family was the highlight of her days.
Surviving her are her children, Ginger Richardson (Jeff) and Mike Polk (Natalie); grandchildren, Morgan Schraner (Trent) and Blake Polk; great-granddaughter Brynlee Schraner and a great-grandson, Tatum, who will join the Schraner family in October, and siblings, Steve Lawalin (Shelley), Kenny Lawalin, Debbie Lawalin, Randy Lawalin (Perri), Karen Miller (Tim) and Roger Lawalin (Stacey).
Preceding her in death were her parents, Lloyd and Bertha Lawalin and her husband, Donald M. Polk in 1982.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pastor David Hayes will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to German Ridge Cemetery in Oriole or River’s Edge Animal Shelter.
