Tell City, Indiana Joseph L. Dauby, 67, died at his home in Tell City on Monday, May 29, 2006. Joe was born in Perry County, Indiana on July12, 1938, the son of the late Chauncey Dauby and Clara Bruggenschmidt Dauby. One sister, Mary Frances Theis and one brother, William ""Bill"" Dauby, also preceded him in death. He was a 1956 graduate of Tell City High School. Joe was united in marriage to the former Alene Lasher on June 18, 1960 at St. John's Catholic Church in Bristow. Joe retired in 2005 as superintendent of the Tell City Street Department, a job he truly loved and enjoyed. For many years, he was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as a sales agent. Active in the political arena, Joe was a past Chairman of the Perry County Democrat Party. He was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church and along with his wife, was a member of a local Christian Family Movement (CFM) study club for over forty years. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and above all else, his grandchildren. Joe was an avid coin collector and enjoyed horseracing with his sons, traveling, and landscaping. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Alene Lasher Dauby; two daughters, Cindy Dauby of Troy, Indiana and Amy Ramsey and husband Brad of Tell City; three sons, Kevin Dauby of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jim Dauby and wife Chris of Tell City, and Neil Dauby and wife Janet of Tell City, two sisters, Frieda Kleaving and Anna Doogs of Tell City and six grandchildren, Courtney, Jordan, Hunter, and Tyler Dauby, Jackson and Jillian Ramsey all of Tell City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 1, 2006 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Barnabas Gillespie OSB officiating with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tell City, Indiana. Visitation is from 2:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana where a parish prayer service will be held at 7:45 PM Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul ""Building Our Future"" Campaign or the Perry County Community Foundation-Joseph L. Dauby Endowment Fund
