Joseph Allen

Hawesville, Kentucky - Joseph L. Allen, 73, passed away April 21, 2014 at Owensboro Health, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was born in Owensboro on December 9, 1940, son of the late Earl Allen and Mary Alice (Roberts) Husk. Also preceding him in death was his wife Joanna (McDaniel) Allen and a sister, Patty Deno. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church ,in Hawesville and American Legion Post #213. In 2001, Joseph retired from Century Aluminum and had worked at Sun Oil, DX Oil and Southwire Aluminum. He enjoyed family gatherings, church picnics, especially Mt. St. Joseph's. Joe is survived by daughters; Elaine Baldwin, Hawaii and Pamela Price (David), Owensboro; sons, David Allen (Darla), Jasper, Steve Allen, Hawesville and John Allen (Jennifer), Owensboro; sister, Margaret "Sissy" Jolly (Gerald), Sorgho, KY; brothers, Jim Allen (Donna), Owensboro and Billy Allen (Barbara), Owensboro; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Hawesville, KY. Rev. Chrispin Oneko will officiate. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City, Indiana Chapel.
