Joseph E. “Joe” Cravens, 76, passed away on January 4, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh.

He was born in Breckenridge County, Kentucky on July 1, 1948, to Willie Ray and Clara Lou (Barker) Cravens.

Joe was an Army veteran who had worked in heavy equipment for most of his life, retiring in 1999. After retirement he served as the minister at True Vine Church in Grandview for 25 years until 2015.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting, particularly rabbits, vegetable gardening, watching NASCAR and tinkering in his shop. If anything would ever break, Joe would take it to his shop; whether it be a television or a lawnmower, he would fix it. 

Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Bonita (Fuqua) Cravens; daughters, Tina Meyer (Michael) and Marsha Turner (Elmer); brothers, Roger Cravens and Charles Cravens; sisters, Dollie McClellan, Darlene Fuqua, Vicki Johnson and Stacey Woolsey; grandchildren, Logan Meeks, Jessica Meyer, Joseph Meyer and Hannah Meyer, Levi, Noah and Lexis Helms and Serenity Turner and twelve great grandchildren. 

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Julius and William Cravens. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Newtonville.
