Tell City, Indiana - Jodey McLain, 87, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born in Tell City on June 17, 1930, daughter of the late Otto Aldridge, Sr. and Lula Jesse (Fuqua) Aldridge. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Bob McLain; son, Greg McLain; sisters, Joyce Richard and Evelyn Treece and brothers, Jim Aldridge, Bob Aldridge and Otto Aldridge, Jr. Jodey was a 1948 graduate of Troy High School. She married Robert C. McLain on April 17, 1949. Jodey retired in 1988 from General Electric where she had worked for 38 years. She was a dedicated and faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Tell City. Jodey was active in mission work and made many friends on trips with area churches in Perry and Spencer counties. She especially was fond of volunteering at United Methodist Church Camp in Santa Claus. Jodey enjoyed knitting and crocheting, hiking, hunting and fishing. She is survived by her daughter, Gayla Steffe (Dave), Jasper; daughter in law, Nancy McLain, Evansville; grandchildren, Aaron McLain, Kathy Olson (Drew), Clay Guetling (Christie Hubbard) and Michele Steffe; two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Leah Olson; sisters, Sue Miller and Frieda Lewis, Both of Tell City; and a brother, Tom Aldridge )Mary Lee), Tell City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CST on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Sam Padgett will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM-1:45 PM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
