Joann Simpson

Jeffersonville, Indiana JoAnn M. Simpson, 72, formerly of Tell City, passed away November 8, 2016. She was born October 9, 1944 in Freeland, PA, daughter of the late Richard and Catherine (Kobza) Carter. She was united in marriage to James L. Simpson November 7, 1964. JoAnn was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of American Legion Post # 35, in Jeffersonville and First Baptist Church. She had worked at Masterbrand, and enjoyed shopping, being outdoors, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband; James L. "Jim" Simpson, Jeffersonville; son, James R. "Richard" Simpson, Tell City; daughter, Theresa "Terri" Simpson, Jeffersonville; sisters, Eleanor Slank, Springsdale, AR and Geraldine Gaffney, South Carolina.; brother, Richard Carter, White Haven, PA; two grandchildren, Hannah E. Simpson and Lexi B. Simpson, both of Tell City. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, November 11, 2016 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, where there will be military graveside rites conducted. Pastor Dan Hopkins will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday and 9:00 until service time on Friday.
