Joann Doughty

Tell City, Indiana Joann L. Doughty, 78, passed away at her home in Tell City on June 21, 2009. Joann was born in Tell City on December 31, 1930, daughter of the late John Alvin Lawalin and Verna Patmore Lawalin Snyder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy E. Doughty, in 1996, a son, Randy Doughty, three brothers, Robert, Denny and Alva Lawalin. Joann retired in 1989 from General Electric where she had been employed for 35 years. She was a member of the Hawesville Church of Christ. Joann enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, reading, watching the Game Show Network and spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Carman, Tell City, Indiana Joleen Spinks, Tell City, Indiana Three sons, Bill Doughty, Tell City, Indiana Mike Doughty, Cannelton, Indiana Brian Doughty, Tell City, Indiana One sister, Elva Dickman, Tell City, Indiana 18 Grandchildren 15 Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Paul Vaughn will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 - 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
