James C. “Jim” Pearson, 94, passed away on August 31, 2023.
He was born on August 23, 1929, in Scottsville, Kentucky, son of Virgil and Mamie (Johnson) Pearson. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country during the Korean Conflict where he was awarded a Bronze Star and received the rank of Technical Sergeant.
He worked in the telephone industry, starting as a lineman and later in management. Jim retired in 1991 as a repairman for Perry-Spencer Rural Telephone Cooperative. Jim had also worked for Indiana Bell and G.T.E.
He had been a member of Hadi Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite, Tell City Masonic Lodge #623 and American Legion Post #213.
Jim is survived by his nephew, Dale Pearson (Zella) of Somerset, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Dorothy (Bolin) Pearson; a brother, Walter Pearson (Della) formerly of Burnside, Kentucky and a niece, Joyce Pearson Price (Richard), formerly of Somerset, Kentucky.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #213 at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at New Cliff Cemetery in Cannelton.
