Evansville, Indiana Jessie Lee Weatherholt, 69, died at 9:32 AM Sunday October 8, 2006 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born on September 23, 1937, the daughter of Mary A. (Schmidt) Poehlein and the late Russell Lee Poehlein. She graduated from Tell City High School in 1955 and married Franklin Weatherholt on June 2, 1957. Jessie enjoyed auctions, especially antiques and Tell City Furniture. Her rose and flower gardens were something beautiful to see. As a homemaker, she was particularly talented in crocheting, sewing, canning, and baking. Jessie worked at Tresslar's Five & Dime in Tell City for several years in the 1950's. Mrs. Weatherholt was a 4-H leader in Vanderburgh County for over 35 years. Jessie and her husband, Franklin, would have celebrated their 50th anniversary next year. She is also survived by her son, Eric Weatherholt, of Tobinsport, and her daughters and sons-in-law, both of Evansville, Mary-Jayne and John Puckett and Kim and Brad Salmon. Her granddaughter, Kelsey Salmon, was the light of her life. Mrs. Weatherholt is also survived by her mother, Mary Poehlein, of Tell City, a brother, John Poehlein, of Lewisport, Ky, and her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Dennis Bays of Evansville. Her other survivors include several aunts, uncles, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street Tell City, IN. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 11, at Huber Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Tell City. Rev. Bill Reid will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderburgh County 4-H Council, Inc, 13301 Darmstadt Road, Evansville, IN 47725. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
