Jerry James

Cannelton, Indiana Jerry M. James, 78, passed away on March 20, 2022 at Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills. He was born in Derby, Indiana on February 23, 1944 to William Arnold "Arnie" and Mabel (Curl) James. Jerry was a Vietnam Army veteran and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #2939. He had worked at Schwab Safe, was a logger and mechanic. Jerry enjoyed playing euchre, shooting pool, going to the casino, working puzzles, and cooking. He also loved to take drives and travel. Surviving are his children, Paul James (Shannon Payne), Gatchel and Kristie Underhill (Steve), Doolittle Mills; grandchildren, Bryce and David James, Brayden Anderson, Blayre Underhill and Tabitha and William Dixon; great grandson, Bentley James and siblings, Cletus James, Delbert James, Jule James, and Janice James, all of Tell City, Donald James and Larry James of Cannelton and Charles James of Troy. Preceding him in death were his parents; infant daughter, Amanda James; wife, Beulah "Polly" (Applegate) James and siblings, W. Eugene James, Mary Button, Sharon James and J. Thomas James. Funeral services will be at 6:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home with burial at a later date in St. Mary Cemetery, Derby. Memorial contributions may be made to Huber Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
