Tell City, Indiana Jennifer Lynn "Jen" James, 39, passed away on January 7, 2023 as a result of her injuries from a car accident on November 26, 2022 by the Candy Castle in Santa Claus. She was born in Tell City on November 17, 1983 to William and Penny Jo (Sturgeon) James. Jen was a 2002 graduate of Tell City High School where she loved being a member of the TCHS Marching Marksmen Color Guard, making lifelong friends. She was an associate for Shoe Show, Inc. and was also an Ambassador for Plexus. She enjoyed Chalk Couture, listening to True Crime podcasts, traveling and cooking, for which she was famous for her deviled eggs. Jen loved to spend time with her family and was a doting pet mom. She was the best mom, a cool aunt, a devoted daughter, sister and friend who was kind, loving and gentle to everyone she met. Surviving is her son, Trey Hermann, Cannelton; parents, Bill and Penny James, Cannelton; sisters, Beth James and Michelle Stephens, both of Tell City; seven nieces and nephews, Aquaila Atkins, Skylar Richards, Kortlen and Curry Parker, Mason, Bryce and Chase Stephens and several great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Hazel (Throop) Sturgeon, Kenneth and Rebecca (Alvey) James and Ameal and Mildred (Graves) Aders. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Billy Lain will officiate. Burial will follow in Beard Cemetery, Bristow. Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00-7:00 PM and Saturday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to her son, Trey to help with living expenses.
