Jeff Hafele

Cannelton, Indiana - Jeff Hafele, 54, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012. He was born in Perry County on November 15, 1957. Jeff worked at Masterbrand, in Ferdinand, until illness forced his retirement. He had also worked at Schwab Safe. Jeff was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. A 1977 graduate of Cannelton High School, Jeff was an avid fan of IU basketball and St. Louis Cardinal baseball. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews and his dog, Jake. Surviving are his mother, Ida Mae (Sweeney) Hafele; sisters, Marlene Wint (Tom), New Albany and Nannette Schelling (Steve), Crestwood, Kentucky; brother, Tim Hafele (Roberta), Santa Claus; nieces and nephews, Nathan Wint (Maedra), Eric Wint (Jo), Jessica Biven (Josh), Matthew Schelling, Christopher Schelling and Megan Schelling, Emily Hafele, Philip Hafele (Melissa) and eight grand nieces and nephews. His father, Joe A. Hafele, passed away in February. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM CDT on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial in Cliff Cemetery. Rev. Mike Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday and from noon until service time on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or Vista Care Hospice.
