Cannelton, Indiana - Lela Jean Fulkerson, 89, passed away on September 18, 2021. She was born in Tell City on February 3, 1932, daughter of William Ivan and Emma Gertrude (Huck) Sandage. Jean had worked at General Electric and later was a home health aide at Perry County Memorial Hospital for several years. She had been a member of Tobinsport Homemakers Club and enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing and gardening. Family was everything to Jean; she loved spending time with her children and all her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Barbara Coogle (Don), Tell City, Becki Morris, Lynn Haven, Florida, Talma Crawford (Cliff), Tell City, Eugene Fulkerson (Lynn), Cannelton, Roxanna Huff, Cannelton, Rodney Fulkerson (Mary), Cannelton, Holly Adkins, Leopold; 16 grandchildren, Lori Blanford, Cindy Yaggi (John), Dana LeClere (Jeremy), David Gaynor, Derek Groves, Trisha Groves, Teresa Baur, Brittany Snyder, E.J. Fulkerson (Jordyn), Jeremy Reed (Ashley), Rayven Logsdon, Taysia George (Steven), Malayna Fulkerson, Nicholas Fulkerson, Evan Adkins and James Adkins; 29 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her husband of over 50 years, Donald "Ray" Fulkerson; daughter, Patti Jo Fulkerson and sisters, Pat Van Coney and Sharon DeWitt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Pastor Ann Skiba will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00-700 PM and Wednesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Perry County Humane Society.
