Jean Batie

Tell City, Indiana Jean Batie, 93, passed away October 1, 2020 at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born in Grandview, Indiana on July 26, 1927 to the late Henry and Golda Mae (Bailey) Webb. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Raymond Westley "Ray" Batie; daughter in law, Vickie Batie; infant granddaughter, Julie Batie; siblings, Bob Webb, Helen Roberts, Frances "Hanky" Blake and her identical twin, Jeanette LaGrange. Jean retired from General Electric and enjoyed working in her yard and taking power naps. She had a close bond with her identical twin sister, Janette, who passed away only three days prior on September 27. Together they liked to attend church, sing and looked forward to their Wednesday Walmart trips where they would visit with people. Surviving are her children, Steve Batie, Tell City and Barbara Masterson (Jack), Cannelton; grandchildren, Amy Batie, Scot Batie (Tina), Amos Masterson, Derika Masterson and Breanna Casebolt (Jason) and great grandchildren, Brittney, Kaitlyn, Wyatt, Colt, Cameron, Devon, Taylor, Hayden, Laneyah, Annika, Dylan, Jay, Jacob, Brandon, Abbegayle and Gunner. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM CDT on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Jack Masterson will officiate. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM and Saturday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
