Tell City, Indiana Allen Peter, 65, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 12:20 AM at Owensboro Medical Health Systems. Allen was born in Perry County, Indiana on February 1, 1942, son of the late Andrew Peter and Nora Goffinet Peter. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Ray Peter and a sister, Eleanora Guth. A 1960 graduate of Tell City High School, Allen was a member of Boilermakers Local #374 and had worked locally as an electrician. He was united in marriage on July 13, 1968 at St. Joseph Catholic Church to the former Linda Pund who survives. Allen was member of St. Mark Catholic Church, the American Legion Post # 213 and was a former member of the Indiana National Guard. A NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed gardening, flowers and spending time with his grandsons. Allen is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Linda Pund One daughter, Lisa Gordon and her husband Steve of Lamar, Indiana Three grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas and Alex Gordon One sister, Elaine Reisz, Tell City One brother, Larry Joe Peter, Tell City, Indiana Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 19, 2007 at St. Mark Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery, where the American Legion will conduct military graveside rites. Rev. Sean Hoppe OSB will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 PM Thursday and 8:00 until 9:30 AM Friday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana, where a parish prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Church or Cemetery or the American Cancer Society.
