Tell City, Indiana James A. ""Jim"" Nix, 78, passed away Tuesday January 5, 2010 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born in Ranger, Indiana, on February 7, 1931, son of the late Jerry and Flora Thalita (Schmidt) Nix. Also preceding him in death was his wife Opal (Falls) Nix, a brother, Robert Nix and half sister, Margaret Tower Ingles. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he served during the Korean Conflict. In 1991, Jim retired as an inspector from General Electric in Louisville after 38 years of service. He enjoyed his farm in Anderson Township, working on small engines, watching westerns and spending time with his beagle and cats. Jim is survived by: Son - Jerry ""J."" Nix, Smithfield, KY Sister - Dorothy Lasher, Evansville Half-Brother - Glen Tower, Evansville 3 Grandchildren - Michelle Cook, Rebecca Nix and David Nix Great Grandchild - Jude Cook Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM CST on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Lee Brown will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Saturday and from 11:00 AM until service time on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Memorial Hospital Home Health Hospice.
