Leopold, Indiana James B. Genet, 82, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at his home. He was born November 26, 1925 in Leopold, Indiana son of the late John L. and Rosa (Goffinet) Genet. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Rebecca Lindsey, a son Michael Genet, a grandson, Craig Genet, three brothers, Freeman, Shirley and John Genet and a sister Lorraine Labhart. He was united in marriage on June 26, 1948 to Mildred Hall at St. Augustine in Leopold, Indiana. A World War II U.S. Marine Corp. veteran, he retired in 1988 after 46 years from I.C.I. America in Charlestown. James was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Okeechobee, Florida, VFW Post #1427 in Charlestown, American Legion Post #35 and Masonic Lodge #40 in Jeffersonville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. He is survived by: His wife of 60 years, Mildred Genet, Jeffersonville, Indiana A son, Robert Genet, New Albany, Indiana A daughter, Sherry Hack, Clarksville, Indiana 7 grandchildren, Travis and Nickolas Genet, Alison and Maggie Hack, David, Dustin and Daniel Lindsey 7 great grandchildren Funeral services will be Monday, July 28, 2008 at 10:00 AM CST at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold with burial in the church cemetery with military rites by veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2939. Rev. Sean Hoppe OSB will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 until 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM and on Monday from 8:30 until 9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Augustine Catholic Church.
