James Eaton

English, Indiana - James O. "Jim" Eaton, 79, was born on July 22, 1943, in West Fork, Indiana. He passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023, at his home. Jim married Mary R. Sprinkle on March 29, 1964. He retired from Best Chairs in Ferdinand where he worked in maintenance and was a member of Old Union Christian Church in Sulphur. "Big Jim" enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, gardening, studying the Bible and spending time with his family. Surviving is his wife, Mary; son, James "Little Jim" Eaton (Joyce); daughter, Mary Jo Calhoun (Steven); grandchildren, Christopher Lahue and Gabriel Calhoun; brother, Kenneth Eaton (Karen); sisters, Violet Schmuck (John), Anita Wayman, Bonnie Huff (Sam); sister-in-law, Mary Lou Eaton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Sylvia (McKinney) Eaton; brothers, Dennis, Donnie and Dale Eaton and a sister, Iola Lemmon. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CDT on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Bro. Al Madden will officiate.
