Bristow, Indiana Ivan Flamion, 94, passed away on February 2, 2022. He was born on May 5, 1927, near Apalona, son of Henry and Bridget (Sprinkle) Flamion. Ivan married Nellie Riat on May 10, 1948, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton. They had been married for 65 years at the time she passed away in 2013. A lifelong Perry County farmer, Ivan spent many hours farming his property on Apalona Road. He also had been a bus driver for Perry Central Schools for many years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, where he served his country during World War II in Hiroshima, Japan. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and a past member of the Knights of Columbus and V.F.W. Post #2939. Ivan loved to watch Andy Griffith and old westerns, play cards and spend time with his family. Ivan's son, Rick Flamion and his wife, Patricia, of Holland, are surviving him along with his grandchildren, Denise Cail (Brad), Wes Richard (Sarah), Grant Richard, Brandy Kane and Brody Flamion (Sarah) and great grandchildren, Austin, Tanner and Addyson Kane and Isabelle, Abigail and Garrett Flamion, Trent and Lucas Cail, Tate, Troy and Carter Richard and Hunter and Jaxon Richard. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Nellie (Riat) Flamion; sons in infancy, Sammy Ray Flamion and Randy Lee Flamion; daughter, Sandra Stuteville, grandchildren, David Richard and Brooke Flamion, siblings, William, Homer and Darrell Flamion, Florence Hubert, Hettie Pierrard, and Goldie Sprinkle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Monday, February 7, 2022, at St. Isidore Catholic Church with burial in St. Isidore Church Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted. Rev. Luke Waugh will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday and from 8:30 until 10:00 AM on Monday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Brooke's Journey or St. Isidore Church Cemetery.
