Irene Dooley

Cannelton, Indiana - Irene Dooley, 79, passed away February 20, 2017 at Golden Living Center. She was born in Cannelton, December 16, 1937, daughter of the late Walter and Mildred (Dunlevy) May. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Lee Allen Pyle. Irene was a 1955 graduate of Cannelton High School. A member of St. Michael Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Richard Dooley December 30, 1956, who survives her. Irene was also a member of St. Ann's Society, American Legion Auxillary Post #142, several bridge clubs and enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She retired from Marian's Hallmark, formerly in Tell City. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard Dooley; daughters, Cathy Hanan (Gary), Tell City, Karen Redd (Robert), Newburgh and Sandi Wrye (Jeff), Tell City; sister, Margaret Schank (Larry), Cannelton ; brother, Harold May (Debbie), Cannelton; nine grandchildren, Nick Zellers (Jamie), Phil Zellers (Heidi), Amber Taylor (Tim), Ryan Hanan (Megan), Juliann Price (Scott), Stuart Dooley (Ashley), Dustin Wrye, Leslie Henrickson (Bart), and Stephani Horton (Josh) and nine great grandchildren, Autumn and Aubrey Zellers, Luke, Jax and Mayci Zellers, Amelia Price, Richard Dooley and Owen and Jude Henrickson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 23, 2017, at St. Michael Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Sengole Thomas G. will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
