St. Croix, Indiana - Ida Mae Faulkenberg, 83, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. She was born in St. Croix on February 26, 1931. Her parents were the late Everitt and Blanch (Kelly) LaGrange. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Paul, Wayne and Billy LaGrange and grandchildren, Lindsey Spence and Brennan Faulkenberg. Ida Mae was united in marriage to Henry Faulkenberg on August 20, 1949, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. They were married for 64 years. Ida Mae was active in her church and raised her family to understand the importance of sharing their time and talents also. She sang in the church choir for seventy years, was a member of Council of Catholic Women and assisted with meals after funerals. Ida Mae enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for her family. She retired from General Electric after 38 years and was a former vice precinct Republican committee representative. Surviving are her husband, Henry Faulkenberg; her children, Barb Spence (Rod) of Carmel, Steve Faulkenberg (Katherine) of Brentwood, Tennessee, Dennis Faulkenberg (Jill) of Indianapolis, Jeff Faulkenberg (Pam) of Troy, Illinois, Kathy James (Tony) of Ferdinand and Tina Goffinet (Steve) of Ferdinand; a sister, Charlotte Ward, of Tell City and brothers, Joe LaGrange (Rosie) of St. Croix and Marty LaGrange (Leandra) of Evansville; twelve grandchildren, Kelli McNamara (Gavin), Ally Thompson, Mark Benton, Crystal Benton, Melissa Reeves (Jason), Ashley Povinelli (Derek), Jordan, Devan and Dylan Faulkenberg, Tim James, Aubrey Welp (David), Mackenzie James and five great grandchildren, Carter and Molly Reeves, Bentley and Taylor Povinelli and Adalyn McNamara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, State Road 62, St. Croix, Indiana, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Brian Esarey will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday and 8:00 until 9:00 AM on Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City , Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
