Tell City, Indiana Hilbert L. ""Bert"" Seibert, 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. Bert was born August 22, 1936, son of the late Orville Seibert and Edna Anna Schroeder Seibert. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Nadine Thiery Seibert, who raised him, and also a brother, Clifford Seibert, in infancy. Bert was a 1956 graduate of Cannelton High School. He served with the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He had worked as a meat cutter at Ogle's Market and Larry's Bestway in Hawesville, Kentucky and at Noble's IGA in Tell City and was united in marriage at St. John's United Church of Christ on March 3, 1981 to the former Willa Kay Poehlein. Bert was very active and enjoyed life, especially bowling, golf, softball, darts, horseshoes, running and biking. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and he played trombone in the Community Band. He followed the New York Yankees, Indiana University and the Cleveland Browns. Bert is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Kay, daughters, Louanne Payne (Lynn), Owensboro, KY, Mary Justice (David), Utica, KY, step-daughters, Niki Pannett Fryou (Mark), Morgan City, LA, Brandi Paulin Sanders (Greg), Tell City, step-sons, Craig Pannett (Vikki), Farmington, MO, Todd Pannett (Dana), Chesterfield, MO, brother, Darrel Seibert (Mary), Tell City, sister, Carol Varble (Rodney), Newtonville, IN, grandchildren, Emily Kleaving, Eric Gelarden, Merek Justice, Jordan, Alexandria, Sam and Molly Pannett, Brady and Rhett Fryou, Grant and Luke Sanders. There are two great grandchildren, Ella Kleaving and Lanah Gelarden. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Evangelical United Church of Christ with Rev. Carly Stucklen-Sather officiating. Burial is in Deer Creek Baptist Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 until 10:30 AM Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ, Deer Creek Baptist Cemetery or Hospice of Western Kentucky.
