Herbert Jones

Troy, Indiana Herbert J. Jones, 97, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011. He was born February 24, 1914 in Perry County son of the late Chauncey and Matilda (Allen) Jones. Also preceding him in death was his wife Deborah (DeVillez) Jones in 2009 and 8 siblings. He was a member of Troy First Christian Church and a one time member of Branchville Masonic Lodge #496. A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Herbert was a lifelong farmer and was a union carpenter. Among others, Mr. Jones was instrumental in starting and building the First Christian Church in Bristow. Herbert is survived by a son Art Jones, and two daughters, Elaine Jones and Ellen Haire, and 2 grandchildren, Kim and Adam Haire. Funeral services were held on Saturday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Bristow City Cemetery. Bro. Al Madden officiated.
