Henry Whistle

Henry Lee Whistle, Sr., 71, passed away on February 17, 2024 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born on December 29, 1952 to William Daniel and Nellie Delores (Scott) Whistle in Midway, Indiana.

Henry was a United States Navy veteran, who served in Vietnam on the USS Midway. He was united in marriage on September 19, 1975 to Redena Hemmings, sharing 48 years together.

He had worked for Styline Industries where he was a truck driver. Henry was a member of House of Prayer and the Branchville Masonic Lodge #496, where he always looked forward to going.

Henry played the guitar in the band, The Good Ole’ Boys several years ago. He enjoyed canning, vegetable gardening, fishing, hunting and coin collecting.

Surviving is his wife, Redena Whistle, St. Croix; children, Henry L. Whistle, Jr., Luke Whistle (Suzy), Newburgh, Seven Whistle and Cain Whistle, both of St. Croix; sisters, Dot Marchand (Tom), Tobinsport, Carolyn Black (Tim), Tennyson and Bonnie Wagner, Belleville, IL; grandsons, Willy, Elliott and Tike Whistle and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a granddaughter, Kristen; and siblings, including his twin sister in infancy, Patricia Whistle, Linda and Barb Whistle and Daniel Whistle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Brother Henry Schwartz will officiate. Burial will follow in Underhill Cemetery in St. Croix.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 3:00-7:00 PM with a Masonic service at 6:30 PM and Saturday from 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
