Tell City, Indiana Helen Lauretta (Aders) Brockman, 83, passed away August 14, 2020 at the Timbers of Jasper. She was born in Bristow, Indiana on September 27, 1936, daughter of the late Onan and Jessie Marie Aders. Being born in the era of the Great Depression and the courageous "make do" generation, it taught her life lessons she passed on to everyone she touched. Helen had a gift of remembering every song she ever heard. She loved Johnny Cash and could often be heard singing his tunes. Helen shared her love of music, dancing, gardening and art. She crocheted, sewed and was always a wonderful cook and homemaker. Raising five children is not an easy task and she was proud of her family. Many of her Timbers caregivers shared memories of song, dance, and general wisdom that she gifted to them. Her blue eyes spoke volumes about the life she had lived. Now, resting on a cloud in the arms of angels. Many compassionate loving caregivers at the Timbers of Jasper did their best in the midst of a pandemic and often with tied hands. They gave Helen love, human kindness, dignity and respect that her family is truly grateful for. The loved ones she leaves behind are her children, Karin, Becky, Michael and Lorie; her sister, Bertha; grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she loved. Preceding her in death other than her parents was her husband, Arthur Brockman; son, Gregory; a sister Mary and brother, Jonnie. There will be services at a later date. Huber Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
