Magnet, Indiana - Hazel A. Bryant, 95, passed away on August 1, 2014, at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born in Ranger, in Perry County, on December 22, 1918, daughter of the late James and Mary Lee (Damin) Cassidy. Also preceding her in death her husband, John Lee Roy Bryant in 1971; a son, Leland Bryant; a grandson, Marty Wayne Bryant; sisters, Agnes Basinger, Cecilia Howell, Betty Schroeder, Josephine Mann and Frances Parsons; brothers, Frank, Bernard "Laz" and Jim Cassidy and daughters-in-law, Kim, Kwon, Debbie and Patsy Bryant. A homemaker, Hazel enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time at the river with family and friends. She was also a commercial fisherman and a rider for Pony Express, which was a mail route. Surviving are her children, Bennett Bryant (Lois), Magnet, Curt Bryant , of Magnet, John Bryant (Donna), Leopold, Barbara Durbin, of Tell City, Marsha Gayle Davis (Duane), Tell City, Norene Duke (Don), Tell City, Mary Miller (Brian), Chandler and Sarah Sandage (Ernie), Tell City and a brother, Pat Cassidy of Derby. Hazel has 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery in Derby.
