Tell City, Indiana –
Hazel A. Cash, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Troy on May 1, 1936, daughter of Claude and Claire (Thrasher) VanHoosier.
Hazel worked in assembly at Commercial Filters until her retirement in 1998. She worked there for over twenty-two years.
Hazel always looked forward to visits from her family and friends. She loved traveling, especially to Texas, being outdoors, working in her garden and flower beds and she never passed up an opportunity to go fishing.
Surviving her are her children, Calvin B. Cash, Jr. (Betty), Rebecca A. Cash Crow and Randy A. Cash (Arthur Vargas-Cash); grandchildren, Calvin B. Cash, III, Amity Colston, John Rogier, Lacy Bryant, T.J. Melton, Jr. and Rickey Sack, Jr.; fourteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Hardin, Shirley Jean Rust, Bonnie Sue Backer, Gary Wayne Van Hoosier and Ronnie Van Hoosier and her companion of over 40 years, Joe Powell.
Preceding her in death were her parents and siblings, Violet Aders, Claude VanHoosier, Jr., Flora Mae Aders, Robert VanHoosier, Doris Ann VanHoosier and Connie Brassard.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Sheila Rearden will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
