Tell City, Indiana - Harold F. Greer, 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Evansville on August 20, 1933. His parents were the late Seward and Amanda (Lee) Greer. Also preceding him in death was a half brother, David Luster. A 1951 graduate of Boonville High School, Harold married Coyce Terrell in Gulfport, Mississippi, on June 24, 1961. In 1998, he retired from Commonwealth Aluminum, Hancock County, Kentucky, where he worked for nineteen years. A U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force veteran, Harold served his country during the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam Era. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cannelton, American Legion Post #213, Order of Eastern Star Lodge #272 and Tell City Masonic Lodge #623. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Coyce; son, John Greer (Peggy Coultas), Tell City; half sister, Jean Miller, Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Matthew, Jordan (Brittany) and Rebekah Greer and great grandchildren, Jaymie and Rylan Greer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Log Church Cemetery, near Rocky Point, where there will be military rites will be conducted. Pastor Paul Alvey will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday. There will be a Masonic memorial service at 7:00 PM on Friday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
