Goldie Edwards

Leopold, Indiana –  

Goldie Edwards, 94, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at her home lovingly surrounded by her children. 

She was born near St. Croix on May 3, 1930, the daughter of Charles and Pauline (Bodart) Cunningham. Goldie graduated from Oil Township High School and was united in marriage to Maurice Edwards until his death in 1998.  

She worked in assembly at General Electric until tube manufacturing left the Tell City plant. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.  

Goldie enjoyed making quilts, playing Solitaire and 500 Rummy, feeding the birds and always asked when the next I.U. basketball game would be played. She loved to watch westerns and especially game shows. Goldie was excited to get to see The Price is Right in person last year and was fortunate enough to have her name called allowing her to “come on down” and participate.  

Surviving her are her children, Bonnie Brahm (Tony), Mary Kay Shearn (Rick), David Edwards (Gail) and Paula Cooper; daughter-in-law, Debbie Kelly (Jim); 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild with another on the way.  

Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Pauline Cunningham; husband, Maurice Edwards; children, Margaret Ann Edwards, Dennis Edwards and Robert Edwards and his wife, Judy; great grandson, Isaak Kemp and siblings, Bertha Weyer, Catherine Kleber, Paul Cunningham, Martha Flamion, Ed Cunningham, Clarence Cunningham and Ida Etienne. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Monday, February 24, 2025, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Luke Waugh will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 until 9:15 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.  

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that any memorial contributions be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church’s Renovation Fund or St. Augustine Cemetery.
