George Franchville

George Ann Franchville, 70, passed away October 31, 2017 at her home, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Evansville, November 21, 1946, daughter of the late James E. "Pete" Hess and Helen P. (Freeman) Hess who survives. Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Valerie Franchville, sister, Mary Helen Hudson and nephew, Donnie Smith. George Ann was a 1965 graduate of Tell City High School and retired from the billing department at Mulzer's Crushed Stone. She was a member of MuGamma Sorority. George Ann enjoyed her bunco club, the time together with the 1965 girls and spending time with her grandson Landon. She is survived by her mother, Helen Hess, Tell City; grandson, Landon Franchville; friend and caregiver, Eva Hubert, Tell City; sisters, Kathy Hess, Lora Ann Smith, and Lisa Powers, all of Tell City; brother, Michael Hess, Tell City; nieces, Kelsi Beaver, Tell City, Megan West, Newburgh, Crystal Pruitt, Tell City; nephews, Mark Hess, Tell City, Matt Hudson, Fishers, Zach Powers, Tell City and Kyle Powers, Tell City. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, November 3, 2017 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday and from 9:00 - 11:00 AM Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to her grandson Landon's Education Fund c/o Fifth Third Bank. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
