Gary Thomas

Tell City, Indiana Gary W. Thomas, 75, passed away on October 24, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Rockport, Indiana on March 11, 1946 to Robert "Chick" and Edna Jones Thomas, who preceded him in death. Gary was a graduate of Rockport High School and veteran of the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Patricia Knight on May 22, 1970 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Gary retired as manager of T&R Liquors and had also worked at Lincoln Hills Beverage, Hedinger Beverage, Coca-Cola, Fischer Mobile Homes and had been an insurance agent with Western Southern. He enjoyed his 1947 Ford, going to car shows and shooting matches, fishing and camping. Gary was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post #213, Grandview Masonic Lodge and was a Kentucky Colonel. Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Patricia K. "Pat" Thomas; son, Brian Thomas (Dianca Williams); sister Linda Spinks and Judy Hudson, both of Chrisney and a brother, Doug Thomas (Jeanne), Chrisney. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 6:00 PM CDT at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. The American Legion Post #213 will pay their respects to Gary at 6:00 PM, followed by a Masonic memorial service and Father Steve Donahue will close the evening with prayers. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Grandview Masonic Lodge.
