Tell City, Indiana - Gary L. Baur, 70, passed away March 19, 2017, at his home. He was born August 16, 1946 in Tell City, son of the late Ralph S. and Gladys (Kuntz) Baur. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Ralph Baur and Gary's dog, Molly. A 1964 graduate of Tell City High School, he was a United States Navy veteran, who served during Vietnam. Gary was united in marriage to Yvonne Hagedorn on May 29, 1965 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Gary was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling, fishing and woodworking. Gary worked in restaurant management in Flagstaff, Arizona, most of his career. He had published, Black Eye, a memoir of work experiences and light hearted stories he had collected over the years. On Saturday, he attended his book signing, another accomplishment on his bucket list of things to complete before his earthly life had run its course. Gary is survived by his wife of 51 years, Yvonne Baur; sons, Greg Baur (Vicky), Olathe, Kansas and Geoff Baur (Amy), Portland, Oregon; daughter, Emily Micena (Christopher), Ballwin, Missouri; sisters, Sandra Smith, Troy, Paula Jo Leclere (Charles), St. Mark, and Gladys Ann Couey (Rick), Atlantic City, Wyoming; five grandchildren, Ciera Baur (Samuel), Casidy Castello (Trevor), Nicholas Baur, Sophie Baur and Adeline Baur, a step-grandson, Anthony Tucker and cat, Kitty. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mark Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM on Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or International Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia Foundation, a research and support group specializing in the type of cancer that Gary had.
