Gar Terry

Gar L. Terry, 76, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away June 21, 2017 at Owensboro Regional Health Hospital. He was born August 21, 1940 in Big Springs, Kentucky, son of the late Emery and Mary (Durbin) Bernardi. Also preceding him in death was his step-father, Irvin Bernardi, sister, Ida James and half-brother, Junior Bernardi. Gar worked at a sawmill and loved to fish. For the past several years of his life he has lived with his son Matthew and his family. He loved going to the river watching and listening to the water. He also enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He is survived by his children, Matthew Terry (Brenda), Marilyn Robins, Johnny Terry (Missy), Ruth Henry (Gordon), Patricia Laswell (Frank), Rebecca Moore (Dean), Donna Terry and Ralph Terry (Lisa); sisters, Mary Little, Fay Carlson, Sue Smith, Becky Apparius, Rose Lotts, Betty Lasher, Norma Stapleton, Violet Adkins, Patty James, Barbara Henson and Gertie Leinenbach; brother, Freddie Bernardi; 23 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Bro. Eddie Olberding will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. .
