Friedel Whitehead, Jr.

Rome, Indiana Friedel Whitehead, Jr., 85, passed away March 24, 2017 at Miller's Merry Manor in Rockport. He was born in Rome, Indiana on March 15, 1932 to the late Rupert F., Sr. and Agnes (Wheeler) Whitehead. Also preceding him in death was a granddaughter, Tosha Whitehead and brothers, Fred, Donald and Eric Whitehead. Friedel was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a self-employed farmer and enjoyed coon hunting, fishing and watching westerns. Surviving are his children, Keith Whitehead (Dorothy), Cannelton and Rita Dykes (Lewis Ramsey), Derby; brothers, Leon Whitehead (Kim January) of Tell City and Robert Whitehead (Betty), Rome; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, March 27, 2017 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
