Tell City, Indiana Frank L. ""Poodie"" Zellers, 75, of Tell City, died early Sunday, July 1, 2007 in an accident on his family farm near Tobinsport, Indiana. Frank was born in Tobinsport on May 18, 1932, son of the late William E. Zellers and Mabel Fallon Zellers. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irma Farley and Nina Rupp. Poodie was a graduate of Cannelton High School and was united in marriage at St. Paul Catholic Church on December 1, 1956 to the former Patsy L. Birchler. Since 1978 Poodie owned and operated Zellers Garage in Tell City, and since 1985 in its present location. He had previously been employed at Dauby Motor Company for twenty-one years and later, the Boat Barn in Tell City. Poodie has been a bus driver for the Tell City Troy Township School Corporation and was also a substitute driver for the Perry Central School Corporation. He is a member of the American Legion Post # 213 and was a 47 year veteran of the Tell City Fire Department. Poodie was a lifelong Perry County farmer and enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and his loyal dog, Holly. Frank is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patsy Four sons, Michael Kent Zellers and his wife, Kim of Tell City, Indiana Mark Zellers and his wife Cheryl of Tell City, Indiana Denny Zellers and his wife Carol of rural Cannelton, Indiana Keith Zellers and his wife Jeanette of Tell City, Indiana One sister, Dee Dee Spencer, Louisville, Kentucky Three brothers, Harry Zellers, Tobinsport, Indiana Lowell ""Hot"" Zellers, Glen Ellen, California Art Zellers, Tell City, Indiana Nine grandchildren, Kassie, Kyla, Cherie, Cynthia, Wesley, Dane, Brandon, Whitney and Claire Zellers Two great-grandchildren, Camiren and Jada Zellers Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CST Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Tell City. Rev. Timothy Sweeney O.S.B. will officiate. Visitation is from 2:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday and 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or St. Mary Cemetery.
